What a productive weekend! My parents are in Yogyakarta since Friday to Wednesday . They visit families and also attend a friend’s wedding there. Since I have no helper or other people stay at home, here I am home alone. It has been 3 days since I continue thinking what I have to eat in the next meal time. I thought (and my mom thought) it will be so easy for me to get food since our home is near a bistro, and of course I can buy any food I like anywhere. Yet, I found I don’t have interest to buy ready-to-eat food. So, I went to Carrefour and warung near home to buy cooking materials. It took time to prepare even a simple food, but I know I love my full authority in the kitchen.
What makes me really tired is not the cooking activity itself. I didn’t go anywhere this weekend, except to the church. But I did the entire house work. I did laundry, swept and mopped the floor and also cooked for myself. I think I just want to prove that I’m a good, independent and diligent daughter to my mom. It’s funny that I used to have my mom shouted at me to help her as if I’m the laziest daughter in the world. It made me realize that I like to get busy, and I can do better jobs when nobody is mad at me (sorry mom, don’t mean to say bad thing about you).
Anyway, I have to get ready for the days to come. I have to rest now because I have to wake up earlier to steam rice and fry spring roll before going off to work tomorrow. However, sometimes it's wonderful to burn a candle at both ends.
